Straw yellow and clear and bright. Aroma of ripe grapefruit and apple with yeasty and toasty characters. There is a hint of wild ferment mixed in with some floral notes - all this adding up to a very complex wine which is drinking superbly. On the palate there is excellent acid balance with just a touch of malo to get a full array of flavours into the wine. This is an excellent example of just how well New Zealand can make Chardonnay wines. This wine can easily go another 5 years in the cellar. Posted 30/12/2013.
